Workshop Description Virginia Bound is the flagship quilt from her book "Scraps & Shirttails". Based on the traditional Rocky Road to Kansas block, she has revamped it for foundation piecing! Even the setting diamonds are string pieced. A wonderful border surrounds the quilt. She made this quilt using all the 'strings' and small parts left from cutting up recycled shirts to use in quilt making. It's a FUN class, no matter what fabrics the students choose. Simply go all scrappy, by separating lights from darks, or choose a two color scheme such as blues & yellows or reds & greens for a gorgeous christmas quilt. on her new book Magnificent Spiral Mandala Quilts, this
is her most current and most popular workshop. You'll be surprised at
simple it is to design and make a Magic Mirror Mandala Quilt -- in one
day you'll go from mystery to mastery! In the morning we'll use a "wedge
puzzle" to design your own unique version of the quilt shown; in the
afternoon you'll start sewing spirals. (To see variations of this quilt,

The class kit is required, and includes all of the class instructions, pre-printed templates and foundations used in class, instructions for completing the quilt, and a package of translucent foundation material.

Workshop with Karen Kay Buckley Fiesta Mexico Block Three with Border Fee for Members: $40.00 plus $17 pattern fee

 This workshop is similar to the three hour workshop for Block Three of Fiesta Mexico but includes techniques for creating a wonderful border. In addition to learning to sew smooth curves, sharp points and perfect circles, you will learn to create and applique perfect 1/4" strips and perfect circles of differing sizes for an exciting border.
